This week has been a whirlwind– I’ve been finishing up a long stretch of workdays and trying to get ready for our trip to Minnesota; Michael has been finishing up his anesthesiology rotation and studying for his big exam (which is going on right now! Keep him in your prayers). We’re a little frazzled around here.
But we did take time last night to celebrate Christmas, just the two of us, since we will be with extended family over the actual holiday. We made a point this year, being our first Christmas as a married couple, to start a couple of traditions. It was so fun celebrating together.
Things that have made me really happy this week:
Trader Joe’s salted caramel gelato.
My super-sparkly holiday nail polish.
Actually finishing books– The Slow Regard of Silent Things by Patrick Rothfuss and The Irrational Season by Madeleine L’Engle.
Listening to “Linus and Lucy” from A Charlie Brown Christmas, and accompanying on air instruments (me on piano, Michael on percussion).
Accomplishing my goal of not leaving laundry in the washer or dryer for days at a time.
My husband, who is hilarious and makes me laugh.
Getting to leave for home a day earlier than originally planned. (That’s today.) (TODAY!!!)
Here we come, Minnesota!
